Subject: Thank you & Kudos

Last week we were desperately searching for a venue for a short notice lunch after a Fort Sam Houston burial. We spoke with Joseph and from the beginning he was absolutely fantastic.

Upon arrival yesterday our party was professionally greeted and seated, the atmosphere was truly a unique and special dining experience. Everyone left with a big smile (and a bakery purchase). The wait staff and Joseph were outstanding. We almost forget the reason for our lunch was a sad occasion – because of the great experience at Crumpets.

Now for the food – it was off the charts – even as I send this e-mail I still taste the pork tenderloin and my husband got up this morning still talking about the chicken. EVERYONE – even the hard to please – were VERY pleased.

Our first dining experience but definitely not our last. Thank you Crumpets & staff for a memorable event.

p.s. I lived in Germany/Europe for over 12 years and felt like I was once again in Heidelberg, Bad Kreuznach, and other fine dining location in Europe. Thank you so so much, Joseph & Staff.

(From February 2009 issue) When the weather’s mild, sit outdoors on one of the city’s nicest patios, overlooking the lovely waterfalls of Salado Creek. Our lunch was just perfect: tilapia amandine, buttery lettuces with tarragon vinaigrette, and a moist chocolate cake worth every calorie—all for less than $11. Dinner, although a bit pricier, is still a good value, and Swiss-born chef Francois Maeder presides with the confidence of one who knows his audience.

June 14, 2008 - Dave Stone aka Silver Creek 78250 Blog wrote in his blog after visiting us for lunch on a Saturday. Dave likes to write about various restaurants that he and his wife have visited. "Go ahead, I know what you are thinking: You think we've eaten burgers at every burger place and had catfish at every catfish place, so now with no place else to go, we're moving up to the finer things in life. We'll, Crumpets certainly is a little more upscale than the usual places we dine, but don't let the fancy name and beautiful location scare you off.

We have some friends that have invited us to dine at Crumpets several times over the last year or so, and things just never have worked out, but this restaurant has been on our "must visit" list for quite a while. And I'll confess, if you don't know any better, you might get the idea that in order to dine at Crumpets in '09, you'd better suit up, order up a limo and bring the Platinum Visa, but to our delight, my misconceptions were just that. Crumpets has an inviting atmosphere, perfect for a couple not wanting to hear the music and noise of a sports bar or the constant sounds of the kitchen and wait staff at Chilis.

After lunch, we wandered about outside just to check out the beautiful area. There is a nice little stream that runs through the property and diners on the patio can probably enjoy the breeze and a glass or two of wine.

I hope you won't wait as long as we did to give them a try; without question, Crumpets is a Tasty Treat.
